SafeCon Consulting Group moves into new Western Regional Offices – In order to better serve its clients, SafeCon’s Western region office, has moved into a new facility that includes a state-of- the-art training facility. “With more than 4 times the office space and a brand new state-of-the-art training facility, we are now able to expand or service capabilities and respond faster to our client need,” said Sam Iler, founding Principal at SafeCon.
The new class A office space was secured at the end of 2009, with a tenant improvement completed in January and move-in February 1st. The new address is 8530 La Mesa Blvd., Suite 304 in La Mesa, CA. Classes in the training facility began shortly thereafter. “The new offices allow us to complete all of our various business objectives, from providing space to do expert depositions, to training and conferencing rooms, to an expanded set of first class offices, we now have the facilities to match our capabilities”, said Iler.

SafeCon Consulting Group Inc. receives Disabled Veteran Business Enterprise status and certification from the state of California. “We are proud to have completed the application and review process, and to be recognized as a DVBE company”, said Jim Jonas, Principal at SafeCon. The Department of General Services, State of California has a rigorous application and review process, and upon successful completion, certifies eligible companies as DVBEs.
Founding Principal Sam Iler says “This certification will allow us to provide our service clients with the ability to better compete for, and meet DVBE goals on targeted projects, especially state and military projects, with specific requirements and targets in this area.
“In addition to our State Certification, which is recognized by multiple agencies and local governments throughout the state, we have applied for and expect to receive our Federal Service Disabled Veteran Owned Small Business (SDVOSB) Certification in the first quarter of 2010,” stated Jonas.
SafeCon Consulting to provide risk management and safety services for San Diego Community College District projects
October 29, 2008 (San Diego) – SafeCon Consulting has been selected to provide a range of risk management and safety services for the San Diego Community College District (SDCCD) construction projects that are funded under Proposition N (2002) and Proposition S (2006). The 23 planned projects at City College, Mesa College, Miramar College and the San Diego Community College Continuing Education campuses are valued at $1.5 billion and will be constructed over the next six years.
Citizens of the State of California approved the SDCCD construction bond program, an investment in education that will prepare California’s children for the 21st century by reducing classroom sizes, providing access to appropriate learning tools and technologies and ensuring safe and secure learning environments. The bond initiative calls for construction of new classrooms, labs and facilities as well as repair of existing buildings and infrastructure across the San Diego Community College District system.
SafeCon, a safety solutions provider for the construction industry, is widely known and recognized for its proactive programs to eliminate costs associated with construction incidents and injuries. SafeCon will work with Gafcon, the SDCCD construction program manager, for the duration of the program to provide risk management and safety services on a range of projects, which include constructing classrooms, learning centers, labs and amenities, renovating dilapidated buildings, repairing roofs and upgrading infrastructure throughout the system.
SafeCon Consulting and Reno Contracting join forces to set a gold standard in construction safety
April 12, 2008 (San Diego) - SafeCon Consulting and Reno Contracting have formed a strategic alliance to create an advanced safety culture at Reno Contracting. The two companies are partnering to develop a safety program that will set a new standard for safety awareness and safe construction practices in the San Diego construction industry.
“This is a full-on commitment to making safety paramount in everything we do,” said Matt Reno, CEO of Reno Contracting. “We intend to set the safety bar high and maintain a rigorous standard for safety throughout our company. The scope of the alliance also calls for SafeCon to monitor and advise Reno on new and upcoming regulatory issues and to assist Reno in continuing to promote its safety culture among employees, vendors and subcontractors.
